Easy Homemade BBQ Sauce (refined sugar free)
So this weeks recipe is another sauce! Inspired by my summer of eating a low Fodmap diet (google it if you dont know what that means), I decided to create my own BBQ sauce from scratch, that had no onion, garlic, or refined sugar. You can always add onion/garlic powder if you want more flavor, and are able to eat it. The reason I love this recipe so much is that its sweet and also savory. A lot times BBQ sauce from the store can be too sweet, and not enough tang, smokiness, or spice. On the other end of the spectrum, it can be the opposite, where it is…
Simple Homemade Marinara (with fresh tomatoes)
Hi everyone! I hope ya’ll are enjoying these last two weeks of Summer. It has been a busy one for me personally! Lots of fun, family time, booming business, and cooking things in the kitchen. With Fall approaching quickly, I think everyone is probably ready for cozy fires, fluffy blankets, pumpkin bread, and home decor with burnt orange accents. With the change in season, comes a change in food. I happily transition to warm and hearty foods like soup, chili, casserole, and muffins. Speaking of warm and delicious foods, I bring you this week’s recipe: Homemade Marinara Sauce (made with fresh, not canned tomatoes)! It all started because I have…
Gluten Free Raspberry Brownies (DF, RSF, Low Fat)
Happy almost Valentines Day my blog readers! I am so excited to bring you this recipe. I know when you read gluten free, dairy free, refined sugar free, and low fat, it does not make it sound too exciting. But after writing this recipe and testing it out, I was shocked at how good they tasted. The texture is the perfect balance between cakey and fudgey, not too moist but not too dry. This recipe has a great balance between the two. They are rich and decadent but not so much that it puts you into a sugar coma. My favorite addition, is the homemade raspberry jam. I was inspired…
White Chocolate Cranberry Scones (Gluten Free)
Listen to me when I say this: these scones are everything you need in your life. They are sweet, moist, and surprisingly healthy. There are 5 main ingredients, and they take 10 minutes to make, and 10 minutes to bake. When you think of scones, you think of carbs and butter. You will be shocked to find out that these scones have no regular flour, no butter, and are made with raw honey. The almond flour in this recipe is blood sugar balancing, and bonus, makes it gluten free. The eggs give it that fluff and moisture that is needed. White chocolate chips provide a crunchy sweetness. The honey is…
Homemade Vegan Pesto
Honestly I am really excited about this simple, easy, vegan pesto. I came up with this recipe because 1. I can’t have basil because I am allergic so I wanted to come up with an alternative because I really love and missed pesto. 2. I also am allergic to walnuts which is a common ingredient in most pestos. Pine nuts are also on the ingredient lists on store bought pestos, and pine nuts at the store- they are expennssiivee sis. Therefore, I came up with some different ingredients as a solution to my quandary. Hence this beautiful, creamy, smooth, aromatic pesto. Of course, there are always variations of the recipe.…
Gluten and Dairy Free Chicken Meatballs with GF Pasta and Marinara
Summer 2021 has flown by, and we find ourselves at the beginning of September. The end of swimming in the lake, tanning by the pool, and picnics at the park is here. However, I am excited beyond reason, because that means that Fall is here! Which means the beginning of warm soups, pumpkin spice lattes, strolls through the park wearing scarves and beanies, and savory comforting food like spaghetti and meatballs! Which brings me to our recipe today! I love this recipe because it is quick, has simple ingredients, and is a delicious savory meal, done in under 30 minutes. You can definitely whip this up whether you are a…
Gluten & Dairy Free Healthy Breakfast Sandwich (w/ green avocado sauce)
This is a delicious and deletable breakfast sandwich that I recently starting making, and it has quickly become a favorite lunch or breakfast meal in my household. It has lots of protein (bacon, eggs), flavor, and as far as breakfast Sammys go, healthy! No gluten, no dairy, and lower fat (because of the turkey bacon) I currently cannot have pork or beef, due to a health issue I had awhile back, so I eat turkey bacon and turkey sausage. I found out how to to make my own hash-browns when I was on the Whole 30 and couldn’t find any frozen premade hash-browns that didn’t have any sugar in them.…
Gluten Free Silver Dollar Pancakes
Happy Monday! These silver dollar pancakes are SO cute and tasty. They are perfect for adults and kids will love them. They are made with almond flour and almond milk, making them gluten and dairy free. They also have honey as the sweetener, making it even better for you. I like these pancakes because the ingredients are simple, it takes 5 minutes to make the batter, and you can just throw all the ingredients in a bowl and mix! Couldn’t be easier. You can also substitute maple syrup in the pancakes if you don’t have honey. They are a great breakfast item that you can pair with scrambled eggs, bacon,…
Whole 30 Banana Muffins
(Gluten, Dairy, and Sugar-Free)Hey there friends! I am almost done with the Whole 30, I have 5 days left. I am in the home stretch! It has been difficult, but I am definitely feeling good. I have energy, my blood sugar has been more stable, my skin is clear, and I have even lost a few pounds. My best friend’s mom came to visit us a few weeks ago, and she shared with me a great muffin recipe she had found and modified. She had done the Whole 30 previously this year and these muffins were a life saver for her sweet cravings. I asked her if I could try the recipe, I…
Whole 30 Chicken Normandy with Apples & Coconut Cream
Hi folks! Happy (almost) Fathers Day! I am currently on day 17 of the Whole 30. I have been trying to come up with creative and delicious dinner ideas that are full of protein, delicious flavor, and healthy. I had never made Chicken Normandy before, but I knew that I wanted to make it, and I wanted it to be healthy and Whole 30 approved. The regular chicken normandy calls for creme fraise (basically sour cream), regular flour, brandy, and some other ingredients that are not gluten or dairy free. So I substituted coconut cream, chicken stock, almond flour, and it tasted great! All the amazing flavors, but better for…
